When you first enter Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, you will be amazed by the sites, sounds, and smells that this wonderful park has to offer. Take some time to explore and fully immerse yourself in the magic and splendor of this fantasy world. Here are some tips for first time visitors to have the most magical experience of all!
1. Take a stroll down Main Street, U.S.A.
Main Street, U.S.A is the very first land that guests experience upon entrance to the Magic Kingdom theme park. This land is filled with fun shoppes such as the Emporium for all of your souvenir needs, Crystal Arts for your more keepsake items, and be sure to visit the Main Street Bakery for a mickey shaped candy apple. Main Street is also the location where you can meet the mouse himself, Mickey and Tinker Bell in the Town Square Theater (currently unavailable due to COVID-19)! You may even catch a parade, the flag ceremony, and a performance by the Dapper Dans while you are strolling Main Street.
2. Grab a Mickey Pretzel from the nearest snack cart
Everyone loves pretzels, especially when they are shaped like our favorite mouse! Mickey Pretzels are a signature Disney snack and are definitely a must-try when you visit Magic Kingdom Park. These salty treats are available at almost every snack cart located in the park and pair deliciously with melted cheese! Yum!
3. Tour the Haunted Mansion
Happy haunts materialize at this fun, yet spooky ride through a Haunted Mansion located in Liberty Square. Hop on board a doom buggy (if you dare) and enjoy the ride as your ghost host provides you with a guided tour of Disney's most haunted house. (I promise, it isn't that scary). The Haunted Mansion is a classic Disney ride and has been a guest favorite ever since the opening of its doors in 1971, which is why I have placed it #3 on my must do list.
4. Take advantage of Photo Pass Photographers
With Disney's Memory Maker, you and your family can have your photos taken in the most sought after spots by a professional photographer! These photographers are located on Main Street, in front of Cinderella's Castle, and in many other destinations throughout the park! No more cutting a family member out of the group photo or asking a stranger to take the family portrait, Photo Pass Photographers will take the photo with their professional camera and link it directly to your My Disney Experience account! They may also add a little bit of pixie dust into some of your images ;).
5. Enjoy the fireworks show
After spending a fun, adventurous day in the park, you can relax with your family in front of Cinderella Castle and watch the fireworks show. Beginning October 1st, 2021, Disney's Magic Kingdom will welcome a BRAND NEW nighttime spectacular, "Disney Enchantment."
"Be swept up in a world of wonder filled with friendship, love and fun as you watch this nighttime spectacular unfold. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, Disney Enchantment will feature captivating Disney music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and—for the first time—immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom park (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/disney-enchantment)." This show is surely not one to miss!
